The Center for Better Vision is staffed by Dr. Christopher Greer, Board Certified Ophthalmologist, and Dr. Matthew Renner, Optometric Physician, along with specially trained nurses, technologists, and assistants.

It is their firm belief that healthy eyes mean a healthy outlook on life, so they make it their mission to maintain the eye health of every patient they see.
Christopher Greer, D.O. moved to Fort Smith in 1995 to establish the Center for Better Vision in the Cooper Clinic Ophthalmology Department. His areas of interest are Refractive Surgery (LASIK), Cataract Surgery, including Laser Refractive Cataract Surgery, and the management of diabetes and glaucoma. He has served as President of his state and county medical association and has received recognition for his international missionary eye surgery.

After earning his medical degree from Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed a Rotating Internship and his Ophthalmology Residency at Botsford General Hospital, Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Greer is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.


Optometric Physician:
Matthew Renner, O.D. relocated to Fort Smith in 2002 to join Dr. Greer’s practice at Cooper Clinic. Dr. Renner provides comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages. His specialty involves caring for patients with diabetes, dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. He also works in close coordination with Dr. Greer in caring for patients before and after cataract and LASIK surgery.

After earning a Master of Education degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Renner completed Optometric training at The Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tennessee and his residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
