RADIOLOGIC SERVICES
General Radiography (x-ray)
For over 100 years, Radiologic Imaging, or “x-ray,” has been in use by physicians as an initial means to diagnose many diseases. X-rays produce diagnostic images of the human body on film or digitally on a computer screen. If an abnormality is noted on x-ray, a more detailed image may be required by use of CT or MRI.

General Radiography is offered at the following locations:

Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith
Bailey Family Clinic – 20 North Aster, Greenwood
Fianna Hills Family Practice – 9101 Jenny Lind, Fort Smith
Medical Building – 7001 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith
Occupational Medicine Clinic – 4300 Regions Park Drive, Fort Smith
Hembree Regional Cancer Center – 7301 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith
Foot Health Center – 5004 South U Street, Fort Smith
ProMed Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith
ProMed Cooper Clinic Phoenix – 4600 Towson Avenue, Fort Smith

Mammography
A mammography exam, or mammogram, uses a low-dose x-ray system to detect early breast cancer and diagnose breast disease. This test is offered at the following location:
Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

Ultrasound: Pelvic, Abdomen, Breast, Scrotal, Thyroids
Ultrasound uses the “returning echoes” of sound waves to visualize internal organs of the body that are sometimes not well visualized by traditional x-rays. This test is offered at the following location:

In 2007, Cooper Clinic installed Fort Smith's first and only Bilateral Breast MRI for the early detection of breast cancer. MRI testing is offered at the following location:
Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

Bone Densitometry

about the CT Scan (64 Slice)
imaging system at Cooper Clinic.

CT Scan (64 Slice) Patient Instructions-Click Here
The CT Scan (Computed Tomography) uses special equipment to obtain images from many different angles. The information is processed by a computer and provides detailed images showing the physician exactly where in the body an injury or tumor is.  Cooper Clinic offers the only lower radiation CT in the Fort Smith area. While the radiation dosage is reduced for patient safety, the new software still delivers the highest quality images in the industry. This test is offered at the following location: Main Clinic - 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

PET / CT Imaging Patient Instructions-Click Here
PET creates images of body tissue with high metabolic activity. These are typically cancer cells. CT scans show anatomical structures within the body. Together as one exam, a PET/CT scan allows viewing of metabolic activity and pinpoints where abnormal lesions are located. This test is offered at the following location:
Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

Prenatal Ultrasound
Ultrasound is considered safe for pregnant women, as there is no exposure to radiation. A pre-natal ultrasound shows how the fetus is positioned and may visualize specific fetal organs. This test is offered at the following location:
Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

Non-Invasive Vascular Testing
With Ultrasound images of the body’s circulatory system, physicians can locate and identify blockages, and abnormalities like blood clots, plaque or emboli.
Main Clinic – 6801 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith

Cardiac Nuclear Stress
Coronary arteries are best evaluated by determining the changes in blood flow to the heart due to exercising.  The Cardiac Nuclear Stress Test utilizes physical exercise and a radioactive compound to construct images of the heart thereby permitting the early detection of heart disease.
