BILATERAL BREAST MRI - A BIG PLUS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

More progress in the fight against breast cancer! On June 25, the MRI capabilities of Cooper Clinic were enhanced by the addition of the Vibrant Breast Scanning Technique (breast coil). Before the new breast coil was installed, only one breast could be scanned at a time with a 48-hour wait before the exam could be repeated on the second breast. For a patient fearing a diagnosis of cancer, 48-hours can seem like an eternity. Now at Cooper Clinic, both breasts can be scanned simultaneously in the same amount of time it formerly took to scan one breast. The MRI is performed with and without contrast and takes about 30 minutes to complete. In Fort Smith, Bilateral Breast MRI is only available at Cooper Clinic. Vibrant Breast Scanning is for women with a previous history of breast cancer or with a current breast abnormality. Our capable MRI crew of Stephen Cranford RT(R)(MR), Paul Matthews RT(R)(MR), and Amber Robertson RT(R)(MR) are proud to be a part of another Cooper First!
